The House

The mansion at Avenida da Liberdade, 189: A captivating past, steeped in history.

Built in 1891 by the esteemed lawyer Adriano Antão Barata Salgueiro, the House’s neo-Moorish style and late 19th century architecture bestow upon it a distinctive allure.

Ownership was transferred to Sociedade Agrícola Valle Flor.

1975

The building was occupied by returnees from Africa.

1978

Júlia Peixoto applied to the Lisbon City Council to convert the building.

1979

The General Directorate of Tourism deemed another hotel in the area unjustifiable.

1981

The Tivoli Group appealed to the council, citing degradation issues.

1990

The building was leased to 3K Group, and entrance frames were painted.

1992

The 3-star hotel opened to the public under António Botelho's project.

2025

The building is re-born as JNcQUOI HOUSE, marking a new chapter in its storied history.
